3 Point Shooting Contest
Entry Fee: $10.00 per person per event
Free Throw Shooting contestants will be grouped into the following groups:
Boys and girls from grades 2 through 8 will comptete together
Boys and girls from grades 9 through adults over 40 will compete together
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded. Prizes will be provided in the form of Award Cirtificate from our Sponsors.
Contest rules:
- Players must sign up using online registration, mail-in registration or they may register on-site on the day of the event.
- Player must meet the age group as of the day of the event, March 30, 2008.
- Contest will be judged and all decisions are final. There are no appeals.
- The order of contestants will be at the discretion of the tournament directors.
- Contestants must be at the event at the start time otherwise they forfeit. If the player is playing in another event at the time of the 3 point shooting contest, please see the tournament director for alternate times of participation if available.
- Contestants will shoot from 3 or more designated spots defined at the time of the event. All spots will be from beyond the 3 point line as painted on the floor.
- The contestant must shoot 5 balls from each spot within the allotted time frame.
- The first 4 balls shot at each spot, if they go in, will count as one point.
- One ball at each spot will be deemed the MONEY BALL and be marked ifferently than the other 4 balls at each spot. If this ball is the last to be shot at each location and go in, it will count as 3 points.
- Any shots attempted and that go in prior to the buzzer will count
- If there are more than 10 contestants in any age group, the top 5 will proceed to the final round. The scores from the first round will not be carried over the final round.
- For the final round, the order of contestants will be determined by the contestants score in the first round. The lowest score will go first; the highest score will go last.
- In the event there are ties, elimination round will be conducted for those that are tied for 1st to 5th. Example of a tie is shown below
- Player 1 scores 10 points
- Player 2 scores 9 points
- Player 3 scores 7 points
- Players 4, 5, 6 and 7 score 6 points.
- There is a tie for places 4 and 5. Players 4, 5, 6 and 7 will participate in an elimination round.
- Elimination rounds will consist of single elimination free throw shooting contest. The rules are the same as this contest with the exception of having a single elimination.
- Any ties in the final round will split the prize money for the tied spots as is done in a typical golf tournament.
Note: Tournament directors reserve the right to modify the rules and prize awards at any time. Judges may change the rules during the event if the length of time exceeds that allowed.
